Photomontage
(visually verified surveys)
|
Using our surveying expertise in conjunction with high quality
photography we can provide what is known as “verified
photography”, “verified photomontages”
or “accurate view representations”.
These
are increasingly presented in planning applications, visual
impact assessments and public inquiries as an easily understood
realistic impression of the scale of a proposed development
by showing a simple ‘before and after’ series of images.
Four Stages
1.The
views or photo locations should be predetermined by either
you, or by the receiving body i.e. Planning Authority. These
locations will be rigorously documented.
2.Key
features in the photograph are accurately surveyed using our
topographical expertise. We can gather this information by
utilising our terrestrial
laser scanner, or by using our conventional total stations
and GPS survey equipment. We can advise you of the best method
for this. This provides the essential and accurate geodetic
information in any national coordinate system that you specify.
If you
already have a site survey we can also verify/augment this
for you.
3.Photographs
are taken, and can capture a range of scenarios. Be it night
or day, during peak congestion times or in a variety of weather
conditions.
4.Once
the survey data and photographic imagery has been collected
it will be merged using our specialist software. The photograph
is georeferenced to the survey data and a CAD model of the
proposed development is inserted creating an accurate perspective
view representation.

We can create an immersive visual environment for you to utilise
within your organisation. By combining high quality photography
taken from all angles from a single location and creating a spherical
image you can be at a site without leaving your office. Imagine
a StreetView type application, which is up to date and in exactly
the position where you want it!!
The spherical
view is web based so you can access it, by password, from any location
and by anyone who needs it.
Leave notes
and annotations on the page for viewing by your contractor, asset
management team, structural engineer, architect, planners, researchers
and any other stakeholder. A truly visual environment to share,
acquire and organise information.
Add value by
combining the spherical view with high definition laser scanning,
measurements can then be taken directly from the imagery. The benefits
of laser scanning can be found at www.laserscanning.co.uk
